Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

23

That's my final count.

I wanted 30, but 2 minutes of straight burpees is challenging enough, I will take 23.  For Now.

I've been slacking on my push-ups the past few weeks, so today's burpees were actually harder than my first few attempts.  Plus I mysteriously gained 5 lbs in between Friday and Saturday (I'm sure it had nothing to do with two night eating out and hockey game food/drinks).

My first attempt tonight I only got to 20 and I was kinda bummed because I didn't get a video of my previous 23.  So I took a little rest and tried again.  23.  Except I think the first set looks better.

Grammy's music themed burpee videos:

You've still got a few hours left to join the fun.

. . .and thus far I am true to my word, I DID get more than Kovas, Patrick and Mr. Manly combined (since none of them did it :P)

Last Chance

. . . to getchurrr BURPEE on for Running Man Wannabe's (and partially mine too) contest!!!!

GET IT DONE :D Seriously, there are prizes (Amazon gift cards!! Chances are really good right now :D)  Even if you can only do 1 burpee in 2 minutes, you're in!

I'm at 23 and getting in my last effort tomorrow (w/ video).  I'm sure some of you can crush that (no video needed just report your results).  My first two efforts can be seen here.

Besides the prizes, I 'm pretty sure adding burpees has made me a hell of a lot faster, WORK those legs muskles!

In other news, this kid:

is a good luck charm

I'm pretty positive The Islanders have only one won like 2 games all season.  And he was at both.

AND

got a puck from Di P at his first ever game

I think his favorite part tonight may have been the Gourmet Cupcakes:

regardless. . . a good  GREAT time was had by all :)

Now really I need to cut out the booze for the next few days. Help.

Prep Work in Numbers

3-  workouts this week that ended in upchucking (apparently my stomach doesn't handle 6 or under pace very well)

  6:00-  yesterday's mile time

  5:54- today's mile time

20- times I wanted to quit on the timed miles (and that includes a few times before I was even out the door)

55°- the temp, I thought 55 was supposed to feel warmer

2-  yup Nelly I'm absolutely wearing my lightest spikiest spikes.

Either these:

Super speedy sister's college spikes
or

My HS Beauties :)

OR

Maybe I'll wear one of each
Dork

Either way they will have these:

6- days till the big race(s*)  They actually have a countdown on the meet site.  I have to take a chill pill though, this week both my boys have off from school/work; the race is near the end of our little vacay and I want to enjoy my time with them and not just be eager/anxious for Thurs.  I wish it was tomorrow.

70%- confidence level  If I can hold my pace from today I will be thrilled, except both today AND yesterday I wanted to DIE at the end of one mile.  Can I hold that pace for 1400 more meters?? We will see.
 Hopefully track+spikes+race atmosphere= success :D

80's- music theme for Thursday night

* There is also a 1500 meter race after the 3k, entry is $15 unlimited events.  I'm leaning towards doing it cause. . . why not?  But then again I might be (and should be) completely shot after the 3k.  I do recover well usually. . . I guess you'll just have to wait till Friday morning  to find out what I do ;)

Good Luck to all those with races this weekend, I'm envious!!

Three Things Thursday

     1)  You may recall that a few weeks ago I had The 5th Grade Class from (they are kids so I'll put it nicely) The Black Lagoon.  After two days in that class I pretty much threw in the towel on subbing.

How one of the boys from that class greeted me as soon as he walked in:

"HI MRS. HUMAN RESOURSES LADY" X 5

Who can name that totally inappropriate for a 5th grader movie?

Hint:

I just realized that line was from this movie while watching it over the weekend, nonetheless I knew when he walked in yelling it at me. . .

It was going to be a bad day.

Yesterday was my first day subbing again since then (I had said I was subbing Monday, but I messed the date up, it's  March 14th).  As I said, I over-shopped this weekend (Spring! Summer! Clothes& Bikinis :D) and felt the need to counteract some of it.

One of the first things I heard yesterday morning:

"You are bootiful"

I knew it was going to be a good day. . . and it absolutely was :)

    2)  It was such a great day that I actually  did a little workout of push-ups, planks and plank-ups on the reading rug while the class was in Music.  I had Pandora playing on my phone and this Jack song came on:

The whole situation made me very happy :)

The rest of yesterday's training was an easy 3-miler on The Mill in 26 ish.

     3) One week till race time, I'm getting some serious nerves and doubts :?  Even though the 3k was  considered a "distance" race in HS, it's pretty much an 11 minute sprint from start to finish.

50-55° for  today and tomorrow, definitely getting an 800  repeat track workout in sometime over the next 2 days.  If I can hit some solid half-mile times I should be feeling more confident, on the flipside if I crash and burn on the 8's. . . :/

Do you have any exciting races coming up now that it is starting to thaw out?
